Using all of the information that you have found, it is now time to create a possible solution to the problem you identified. There are several ways to determine the best solution. We will use a Pro's and Con's chart to help us make that determination.
Directions
Access your Design Experience Scaffold.
Brainstorm possible solutions on the 3rd page of the scaffold to the problem you identified.
Choose 2 of the most promising solutions.
Use the Pros/Cons chart on your Design Experience Scaffold to analyze these solutions.
Pros - Positive consequences - How does this solution best address the problem? How does it fit within identified constraints? How does it meet the needs of stakeholders?
Cons - Negative consequences - What are shortfalls of this solution? What constraints does it not meet? What stakeholders might be negatively affected?
Rate each Pro/Con on a scale of 1-5
Add up your points
Choose the one best solution to present to the group
Create your prototype. Revisit the Explore page for links if you need to.
Make a plan on how and when you will test your prototype and note it on the scaffold as well.
Reflection
Share what you created as a prototype with your shoulder partner and your best hope for how this will address the problem.
Teacher Tip When students identify solutions and design prototypes, they take ownership in the learning process.
